Whimsy World is inspired by Heather Lane and Chris Graham's youngest daughter, Zéa Joli, who was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma Cancer at just 3 months of age. Zéa currently receives local care in Miami, as well as, specialized follow up at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC and Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore for spinal cord rehabilitation. She is currently stable and her family is grateful she continues to thrive in hopes to walk independently in the future.
"For nearly a year we fought to save our daughter through medical and integrative treatments. While Zéa was confined to four walls in a new world, a hospital, our family personally experienced the healing power of art, music, and a supportive community. Zéa recovered from surgery, endured several months of chemotherapy, however, she continues to experience the late effects of the disease. Creative expression brought us from a dark hospital room to a colorful world of hope and healing. Color. Art. Music. We surrounded Zéa and her big sister, Kaia, with the healing power of the Arts and through our journey Whimsy World was born. Every 3 minutes a child is diagnosed with cancer worldwide. We intend to create, explore and connect with those in need."
